Pre Construction Community Engagement

Community opposition or a lack of support can heavily impact your project and your bottom line. Perspective Engagement delves into the heart of a community, pinpointing issues and developing implementable solutions using a consensus-based approach. Utilizing our design and technical resources, we offer an Alternate Perspective - A Perspective within the Community.

CPTED/ Perspective Urban Design Assistance

Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) is a multi-disciplinary approach to reducing crime through urban and environmental design and the management and use of built environments. CPTED,pronounced ‘sep-ted’, is also referred to as Designing Out Crime, defensible space, and other similar terms.

Using CPTED techniques in conjunction with life experience and personal interaction, Perspective Engagement provides design insight and methods for reducing victimization, deterring offender decisions that precede criminal acts, and building a sense of community among residents. - On every project, Perspective Engagement anticipates considerable input relative to public safety issues and we are committed to providing unique solutions that create a strong sense of security for the community.

Community Design Charrette & Meeting
Management

A community design charrette is a brief, intensive design workshop that engages diverse stakeholder interests such as residents, local businesses, clergy, local organizations, elected officials, and other concerned citizens.Working actively with the community stakeholders in a public forum allows for all voices to be heard and ensures that, as a group, we arrive at innovative and appropriate solutions that are “owned” by the community. Perspective Engagement employs numerous engagement techniques to facilitate change, including “Screen on the Green” movie nights, “Neighbor Days”, block parties and community picnics, all focused on celebrating the community. By immersing ourselves in the community – perhaps in ways that other firms do not – we are better able to get to the heart of the community’s wants and needs, gain trust, and develop a plan for sustainable community transformation.

Our Story

In 2018, two men were released from prison on the exact same day, at the exact same hour, with the exact same vision - to now positively affect their communities. These two young developed a network of Key Community Members in order to allow them access into every City in the US. And to have the ability to influence and guide these communities organically. Driven by this vision and determination, these two men focused on higher education. Sadly, one young man lost his battle to Cancer, recently. And to keep his memory alive, instead of accepting a technical job within the HVAC/Construction field, Corey Pollard sought to complete his education in Business Management and Entrepreneurship at Georgetown University. During his time at Georgetown he interned with Torti Gallas + Partners,an architecture and planning  firm committed to improving cities, towns, and distressed communities throughout the United States and around the world. While at Torti Gallas, Corey developed not only design talents but also a consciousness toward building sustainability within communities. After attending multiple community engagement meetings, and early morning design consultations, the need for a consulting firm to effectively interact with the community, no matter the location or how the environment has transformed, became evident. This need not only affects the Developers' bottom line, but also the future of those who currently live within these communities and those that will live there in the future. This need gave birth to Perspective Engagement.
